Welcome to Lone Tree Kindergarten 2015/16 School Year!

Thank you for attending our orientation night as it makes your child’s transition to kindergarten on the first day of school much easier. This also gave you some insight as to how we will proceed with the school year.

*Just a few reminders as we get through the first few days of school: Please ask your child how there day was. Make sure you are a part of their new world of school. You may need to ask questions like: what did you do at recess, who did you sit by at lunch and other questions to get them thinking about their day and to not receive yes or no answers or the famous “I don’t remember” response!

If you have not done so already, please make sure to turn in all forms handed to you at orientation night and the information sheets that came home in the daily notices folder the first couple of days! Thanks for your timely help in this matter!

Please continue to return the daily notices folder every day in your child’s backpack. This is how we will communicate daily if needed and important forms and info will be sent home this way! It does not take but less than a minute to check the folder for notes, empty it out and place it back in your child’s backpack. You will not want your child to miss out on anything, especially at this age!

This month’s themed units of study: (in addition to reading, math and writing groups)

~Classroom procedures/rules and learning the campus.

~The Kissing Hand: Book and activities.

~Our 5 senses: Smell, Touch, Sight, Taste, and Hear.

~All About Me: Activities to get to know each of our classmates and learn about ourselves.

Please contact me with any questions you may have. The best way to reach me with a quick response is through email. Please keep in mind that he first few weeks of school will be difficult to discuss individual students immediately following dismissal at 2:15. Please don’t get frustrated! Just email me or wait until all students have been released! We have to get our after school, youth center and bus students to their destinations immediately following parent pick-up at the classroom! I want to keep in contact with you!

Have a great first couple weeks of your child’s kindergarten year! We are going to be busy bee’s!
